On the Road to Aytat Story

On the Road to Aytat, or as it is known "Aytat", is the first song William Nassar wrote and composed, when he was still living in Beirut, Lebanon.

The song was dedicated to his friend Anwar Yassine, who was detained for 19 years in Israel for joining the Lebanese National Resistance Front (JAMMOUL) and with no time the song became a hit, until today.

On the Road to Aytat, is considered as the most famous and popular political song in the Middle East and beyond, at the same time, it is the most pirated song by amateur singers, who change the lyrics to serve political agendas, or to gain a rapid recognition.

Since 1986, the song is moving from one generation to another, because it tells a true story and events in the lyrics and for the symplicity of the melody as well.

After several attempts to resolve the issue of pirating the song by those amateur singers, whick led to nowhere because of the lack in education about copyright laws in some Middle Eastern countries, such as Lebanon, Syria and Palestine, William Nassar had no other choice but to fill a lawsuit case against those amateur singers in North America, U.S.A. and Europe, for ignoring the Moral Rights of the composer and for changing the lyrics without written permission. Therefore, by law, those singers are refrained from performing the song by any means, without previous written and documented permission from the composer and the publishing company who watches the copyright infringements and collect the Royalties.
